Drawing on a decade of research in collaboration with communities, ELA has created print and digital versions of the world's most linguistically diverse city (NYC), including 700 language varieties at over 1200 significant sites.

ELA is committed to mapping urban linguistic diversity, representing many of the smaller, minority, and Indigenous languages that are primarily oral and have neither public visibility nor official support.
Mapping COVID-19 and Language
As the disproportionate and tragic effect on COVID-19 on NYC's most multilingual communities became clear, ELA partnered to map language and health data to assess the connection.
